I just found out that a buddy is going to be Portland next week so I booked time off to end down from Vancouver BC. I'll probably ride on the way down hang in Portland for a couple fo days then head back and do something on the way home.

Anybody have suggestions for some good 3-4 hour rides? I was thinking of heading Mount St Helens area or maybe around Bend. I guess the next question is what bike should I take? Would it be better for XC or Freeride?

Bring both the XC & Freeride bikes. Hood River is 45 minutes east of Portland. There you'll find all the riding you could ask for. Go to Discovery Bicycles in downtown Hood River for trail info.
