Hello fellow bikers. I have a question for yall. I have a chance to buy a 2009 trek fuel 9.8 bike. I was thinkging I could take the parts off and build a a different frame to get started. The issue with the bike is that the frame is broken near the bottom tube and several chips on the headtube. The fork is very beat up but i think the stanchions are ok and the front wheel is totalled. So the guy is asking about $1000. I think this may be too much because the frame it gone so what should i offer. Its got xt nine speed all around. I know the old nine speed can be pretty cheap on craigslist. here are the specs. any help would be awesome.
