I live in Smyrna and I've been taking my BMX bike out to the trails lately and want something a little more trail friendly, but seeing as I don't know anything about mountain bikes I'd like to hit up a shop and test ride some. I know a great shop for BMX and another for road bikes and my LBS can get me anything I want, but they don't have much to test out and I don't really know what I want anyway. I'm just getting bored with tracks and want to start doing the same kind of riding on trails so I've been looking at freeride/DJ setups.

I grew up in ATL.
My favorite one is "outback bikes" in little 5 points but i havent been to em all.
They have good variety

i have heard atlanta cycling is good too but i havent been there in 10 years.

I stopped by Atlanta Cycling today since it's right down the street, but they didn't quite have what I was looking for. I'll go back some other time, though, when it isn't right before they close and test ride some of their XC bikes.

+1 for Outback in L5P. Alpha Bikes in Alparetta, Outspokin in Woodstock, and Free Flite are all good shops too.

REI and Performance also have some decent stuff and good sales going right now. Let me know if I can help.
