Hey, guys, it looks like my little sister has outgrown her old Hotrock. She finds biking moderately interesting, but I think that a nice, light bike could make hills less hard and therefore her more enthusiastic.

I had considered buying her a $400 Carver Mini frame and getting some XC components from a Giant Ranier I have (all except wheels), but she doesn't like the way it looks.

I'd be delighted to fix up my Enduro for her but she won't fit for another year at least.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

skip the 24" and find a 13/13.5" framed 26" wheeled bike as they will get a lot better parts and won't outgrow it as fast. My kids got started on 13.5 Gary fishers (mullet for my son, HKEK for my daughter) when they were small and they can still use them. The Mullet is a great value and the HKEK is a race worthy hardtail.

Gots to agree with LDH, my son on his Haro 13.5 at Mammoth for the Kamikaze in 2000 & last year on our pump track for the 4th of July. :thumbsup:
