I just bought a black 05' Specialized Rockhopper Comp. I paid $689 (out the door, tax included) and $50 dollars worth of accessories for free. Is this a good deal? I figured it coudn't be too bad if the MSRP is $800.

it's a good deal if the bike is ~$100 or less under MSRP especially for 05's

What does it matter you already bought it

If you ride it and enjoy it it was a good deal regardless of the MSRP. If it sits in your garage you wasting the bikes potential. So my question is did the bike get a good deal????

I would say the bike got a good deal. I have riden the bike a lot since i purchased it. I took it out today down some really steep inclines with large roots and a lot large divits on the side of the inclines and the bike took it like a champ. The inclines (hills?) were around 100 feet and very steep. The fork seems to work well for me and I'm 235 lbs. So yeah the bike's potential is being used.
