The smoke is blowing to the NE so it should not be an issue in Gold Canyon..... But , it's closed.

Lost Gold mine trail closed. Peralta road closed after the school. You can get to trails below LGM by the tan gate or the old way in Apacheland. So only 2 ways in.

The fire was up to 62,000 acres today. The wilderness is 158,000 acres. It's now heading north and east.

Looks like the trailhead at the cloudview parking lot might be closed. not 100% certain. There was a small piece of paper on the board stating it was closed but the gate was unlocked and there was no signage or tape entering the parking lot or anywhere else. Maybe the paper is outdated.

A GC ridin friend advises
I don't post at mtbr. I only look there once and awhile at reviews of gear. I rode Gold Canyon twice this week. The only trails closed are those going north of Lost Gold Mine.

The state trust land has never been closed.
