Recap of day three, it was the GITA south boundary angel fire to taos shuttle ride. Fifteen people turned up for this ride and we packed in the people and bikes to minimize the cars out there. My honda element squeezed in six bikes and five people! Wowie, forgot to get a pix, but it was tight. We started about 11 am and finished about 3:30. The day was quite warm for Sept, especially since last weekend it was cloudy and cold, and the aspens were just starting to changing colors (okay, somewhat). Perhaps in a week or two, it will peak. I don't recall everyone's name, but we had two Anthonys, Dave, Chris, Paula, Terry, Cynthia, Sasha, Tom, Paul, and a fews guys from CO Springs. There are some great personalities within this group, thanks for making my weekend! Enjoy the pix! :)

I wish I rode with you guys on Sunday, it looks like fun times were had. It was great meeting you and everyone else on Saturday, we'll have to ride again.

Take care,

Glad you were able to make the ride, Carrie, and thanks for sharing the pics. I was bummed not to be able to say hey to Cynthia, Tom, et. al. And you're right; it was unusually warm yesterday. I'd have much rather been riding than moving furniture.

we had some great unseasonably warm weather for the weekend, and now, Monday morning, it is cloudy and not as warm...

looks great. I was sorry to have missed the ride, but Scott and made the call that we might need some sleep adn decided against teh trip to Taos. as it would have put us back into PHX by 3am.

Instead we rode Cochiti and had blast. I-40 construction traffic and having to wait out a freak storm in a knife shop in near Holbrook had us home by 10pm.

Great weekend everyone. Nice seeing some old friends and making some new ones.

YOW! Must have pix of THAT 'Deliverance' sounding leg of the trip...

And man! Has I-40 out by the west edge of NM been under construction for a long time now.... perhaps someday prior to the new work being obsolete, they will get it done.

Perhaps not!

it was raining WAY too hard to even consider digging the camera out of the back of the car. the plains next to I-40 were under water. as was the road. the knife store has some nice kitty deterents in the 12-18 inch range. and of course plenty of glow in the dark scorpians and petrifed wood.

Once you pass Grants the other 5 construction zones were a breeze. but the first was was evil for no reason. re: sitting still or less than 5 mph for 45+ min.

Next year need to pay for shuttle, or get non-mtn biker people to drive our butts to angel fire. Also, leave cars in camp ground with shade and water...

No, nor did you offer so much as a howdy-do.
ouch.. my bad, sorry 'bout that. Was a rushed trip, and I scrolled through my addy book looking for people to drink beer with, but obviously I missed someone (but I did extend an invitation in the Front Range forum..). unintentional I assure you. If it makes any difference, I was only in Golden long enough for a meeting, and then I had to rush up to Boulder for another..

Doesn't mean that you have to take it out on poor Porter..
