PARK CITY, Utah -An Arizona mountain biker has been killed in a spill while going down a difficult trail at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah.

The victim was identified as 51-year-old Tommy Crawford of Gilbert. Park City police say Crawford was biking yesterday afternoon with a friend on the Thieves Forest Trail, an expert-only trail.

Police say he was going down the hill, hit a steep spot, went over the top of the handlebars and landed in front of the bike. Crawford was wearing a helmet and gloves. Emergency crews attempted CPR but couldn't revive Crawford, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

This particular section of the trail is a quick section that comes out of the trees into basically a blind roll/drop depending on your speed. I've been up here since Friday and had the misfortune of coming across the accident scene as they were attempting to revive him.
