Hiya, do any of you own a composite XTC, I have just bought a used but in great condition, 06 large frame however I cannot get my new Easton E70 seat post more than 1" into the clamp area.

Looking down the seat tube I am uncertain to how far you can actually get it to enter, will it, should it go past the area where the top tube or the seat stays meet the seat tube ?

Make sure it is the right size seatpost for the frame - I'm not sure what size seatpost your particualr frame should be using, but my guess would be 31.6? (My NRS composite was 27.2, and my Alloy XTC was 31.6/31.7/31.8)

If it is the right size - then get a torch and shine it down the seattube to make sure there is nothing in the way, if that fails, pull out some measureing calipers and check the seat post and then the frame for correct sizing.

Pretty sure the XTC frames from the last few years have been 30.9. Sounds like either the seat post is too big or there is some sort of burr/obstructions at the seat tube to top tube join? Have you had a look down to make sure it is all clear?

XTC requires 30.9 seatpost or 27.2 with the original shim.
