Have you ridden them both? The Giant is better specd, nicer fork, brakes, etc. Ride them both and decide, both are Quality bikes with nice frames worth hanging upgrades on.

Unfortunately no, I haven't.
Neither shop is conducive for a test ride,
although I may be able to get on the F5.
Most of the shops around here have very limited supplies of bikes
and aren't located in places convenient for riding i.e. downtown.
That is why I'm relying heavily on the advice of others for this purchase.
Thanks for yours. I, too, am leaning towards the Giant.

I hate to hear about no test ride, just make sure the bike fits you properly, Giant makes really nice bikes and stands behind them with a Great warranty.

Hmm... the info card for the F5 says its a '10 year model but also that its a 24 speed...:confused: Maybe a mistake. Giants are very popular in Japan so parts would be easier to come by.

Mounted my eTrex as well as my iPhone4 using the Otter Box belt clip and a couple of zip ties.
