I need some advice for my first mountain bike. It's between a Giant Rincon ($349), Trek 3900 ($350), or a Trek 4300 ($379). Can anyone shed some light?

If you can save a little more the Yukon is ~$120 more. It has a better rear derailluer, better shifters, and has disc brakes. Of those three, the Ricon and the 4300 are spec'd about the same and the Ricon is cheaper. Oh, and the Ricon has a 100mm fork vs. the 4300's 80mm. I'd go for the Giant.
