Look at the Trek 4300 Disc, good bike for the price.
GIANT Rincon Disc VS. TREK 3900 Disc.
Hi guys, I want to get into mountain biking and I need your help. This is my first bike, so I don't want to go all out, but I want something decent for light trails and city biking. I think I will go with either the GIANT Rincon Disc or the TREK 3900 Disc. Which one should I go for between the two? Which one has better components? You can also post other suggestions for bikes around that price range.

There both "equal" in terms of components. Choose the one that feels best or the one that looks best.
that one is 699.99, the Trek 3900 is 549.99 and the Giant Rincon Disc is 639.99. These are Canadian prices.
I find that the Giant looks better, but it is also about $80-$90 more Canadian.
So buy it. Whats $80-$90 compared to your happiness?

Ive tested both and they're great bikes... to me the rincon is more comfi due to the geometry difference... but again others might find 3900 more comfi

Anyone has a better suggestion for this price range? I'm looking for the best bang for the buck starter bike.
Rincon seems kinda high. I got mine(08) last year mid season for ~$400. Most places I looked had it around that price. Even the 09 models I've seen were that price.
yeah, I think they bump up the price by quite a lot here in Canada. The Giant bolder sells for 400 here.
