To make a long story short I haven't ridden in about 6 years. I became ill in 2004 and sold my Yeti AS-X because I didn't think I would ever ride again. Now I am at about 90% and I'm ready to jump head first into biking. My previous experience is a mix of Sport level racing, park style riding and drops.

My local bike shop has a 2009 Giant Glory Downhill set up exactly like this.

http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/mountain/2271/32155/

They are asking only $3500, it is a brand new bike. I have a feeling I could even make an offer and save a few hundred. I rode it around the block a few times and I loved it! The only issue is the bike is a small (16.5") and I am 5'9" 150lbs. Giant recommends a rider of 5'4"-5'7" for their small size and 5'7"-5'10" for their mediums. The bike felt good but I would really love it if it were an inch longer... AKA a medium.

Does anyone here have experience with this bike in this size? I'm sure there are a lot of people here that are around my size, I know it can be quite a tough decision as the rider could go either way. I'm thinking this size might complement my style well as it will be used for freeriding beyond anything else. I just would hate to make the wrong decision. My AS-X was a small as well but felt much more cramped then this Giant.

$3500 for a $5500 bike seems like a steal, thoughts?

Just to throw another bike in the mix, heres a local bike for sale.

Sorry for the noob post, like I said its been quite a few years.... Be gentle.

I hate to do this, but.....I'm selling my 09 Giant Glory 1 with Fox 40 up front for only $2650, and its a Medium. Just a heads up that there are a few options out there then trying to rock out a small. For that much money, you want a bike that fits you!

You need to get a medium. I would rather look for a deal on a newer model than last year's/older generation.
I'm not sure I can get a deal that sweet on a newer 10 bike, $3500 is maxing out my price point.

Edit: I just found a farily local flawless (used) medium 09 Glory DH for $2500, I think that might be the ticket. Apon looking at the geometry in the archives of the Giant website the 09 Glory DH in Medium has a .4" longer top tube. This is 100% awesome, just the amount I need to feel perfect. I will be picking up the lightly used Medium for $2500.
