-(used) 150mm Contact dropper vs 125mm one it came with
-Maxxis Assegai 2.5 (f) and Specialized Eliminator GRID 2.6 (r) tires [tubeless] vs Shorty+HRII
-(used twice) Bontrager Grips (only slightly better than Giant ones)
-Kona 50mm stem vs 40mm stock stem
-(well used) WTB Saddle vs that OEM ar$e prick
To Do Upgrades:
-30t Oval Chainring
-780mm Handlebar 38mm rise
-170mm dropper (if it'll fit!?)
Use to own a ’17 Giant Reign 2 size L, which has similar Geo to new bike - size M...
But, it (new mule) feels more compact. Like a big BMX bike. My GR2 was more sled like, whereas this thing likes to pop & play.
Front end is a bit low, hence install of riser stem and soon to install 38mm riser bars.
Here's my OG-est (2005, first-year-production) 15-year-old Trance (acquired as a frameset, hence numberless and the only version w/rim & disk bosses) that is the first from my fleet that I've re-commissioned back into duty now that COVID-19 has redefined recreational pursuits.
Yeah, COVID-19 dragged me back into mountain biking.
Seems like there is no place for 2021 Trance X Advanced Pro 29 photo so I'm going to put it here. Hope that's OK with everyone.
It's a custom build with a mix of XTR and XT.
It weighs in at 13.01Kg/ 28.69lbs as shown with the stock wheels and tires. It climbs incredibly well and is solid on the descent.
