i was thinking of building a xc race bike...not looking to spend a ton of money cuz i already have some parts i would be changing anyway...but i was trying to find out if the anthem 3 is the same exact frame as the anthem 1 and 2...or if one is maybe lighter then the others....also..any other suggestions for a good race bike

same frame, shock may differ though, when you buy a frame form a giant dealer you get the top version frame colour and shock spec

All the GIANT Maestro bikes use the same frame throughout each particular design - so all Trance's use the same frame as do the Reign's, Anthem,s Faith's, Glory's (although there are a few carbon models available). The only real difference is what shock the frame comes with and components (if it's a complete bike) and as HuckaDuck said if you buy the frame only it comes in the "1" colour and shock combo without the "1" designation decal on the frame.
