I've been trying unsuccessfully off and on to do a ghetto tubeless conversion on my Giant Anthem X 29er. The problem I'm having is that after blasting it with my air compressor to get the bead to seat, as soon as the tire begins to deflate, the bead of the tire unseats from the rim bead. Anybody have any tips to get the bead to stay seated?

Have you tried inflating with a tube first? That way you can seat one side of the bead properly making the other side easier to set when you take the tube out. You'll also know when both beads are in place as you'll hear a loud ping! You'll need to put extra pressure in to start to get them set.

set your air compressor to 80 psi and pump though crap out of them until you hear the ping ping ping. If your beads won't stay seated after that then you could try putting a tube in overnight to expand the casing. If that doesn't work then your tire rim combo simply probably won't work. Its called ghetto for a reason.
