I bought a 09 Dakota 29 size Large. I was wondering if there was a run of frames that didn't have the right geometry. The specs claim a 73 degree seattube, yet it seems like my seatube is steeper than that. Even with the reba out at the 100 setting, my seat tube is noticably steeper than the other 29ers with the same claimed geo spec. I climb on friends bikes that claim a 73 seat tube, and it feels and looks more laid back. I'm only 6'2", so while I'm on the upper end of the Large sizing, I'm not too big. To get good pedal setup, the seat is pushed back on the already offset post. Whereas I climb on friends bikes with VERY similar claimed specs and sizing, and the post clamp is nicely in the middle of the rails and feels great. Is it me, or the bike? I just feel like something is off here, but I can't figure out where. Any ideas?

You may want to double check to make sure the fork is indeed set at the 100mm travel setting. Some Reba's on the Dakota's were set at 80mm. 1" at the fork equals 1 degree at the head tube angle and seat tube angle. Rock Shox has a wonderful Tech manual which go's in to great detail on how to service there forks and shocks. Page 48 of there 2009 Tech Manual has the instructions on how to change the travel. Go to: http://www.sram.com/en/service/rockshox/tech_manuals.php
and download the Tech Manual for 2009 (Release date 8/2008) says it's 42 pages but it's more than that.
Best, Rob
