Louise Kobin is at it again taking on the Iditarod trail Invitational. Lou and her Boyfriend Eric Warkentin love this event. 350-1100 miles on your MTB. Race just started today
I talked to her just before she was leaving and the temp was about 23 and a few miles up the snow trail it was about 0 degrees out.

I always thought La Ruta looked daunting until I heard about the Iditaroad. Nothing says aggressive like a 1k enduro on the Alaskan tundra in the middle of winter.

Louise in 7th overall so far.

Louise Kobin and Eric Warkentin are both riding together still. Both in 7th overall. Lot of racing still to come. Lou as always is up there with the Big Boys. Crazy SOB's.

Crazy is right. Fond memories of Eric sharing his experiences with me over beers following his win (I think) one year in the 1100 mile distance... "... I just decided to wait out the storm in a tree well hunkered down in my -40deg bag... " yikes.

Lou and Eric 5th overall so far.

They started on 2-28-11 and they are in Rohn at the check point 5#. Mile 210 . 80 miles to the next check point. Weather is -6F. They are in 5th overall with two check points to go and another 140 miles. Lou is in 1st place in the women field. HARDCORE!!

Lou Kobin ste new Iditarod record!!

Louies Kobin finishes 4th overall in the Iditarod trail race 350 miles in 3 days 22hrs 20 min.
Lou's Boyfriend Eric Warkentin finishes 4th along side Lou. The was Peter Basinger.
Lou will be hard to beat at the Tahoe Sierra 100 this year.
She asked us to put more climbing to the already 20,600ft at the TS100 this year .She is not human.
