Gateway Trail Mt Shasta conditions

Hi-

We're heading up to Shasta next week, it was supposed to be an all ski weekend, but with the lack of new snow we're wondering if we should bring mt bikes.

Anyone know if the Gateway Trail is ok to ride right now? Looks like the elevation is 4000-4500 so is there snow on it?

Thx

While I’m not sure about the trail you mentioned specifically, I do know this won’t be a good ski weekend, so I’d find somewhere to bike. Lol
Saw some posts on Strava with a few inches of snow on the Gateway trail system. Looked like it could melt off soon.

I know the trails in Redding and Weaverville are in ridable form.

thanks- yeah Redding would be a good option for riding right now - the summers there not so much.
I've been meaning to check it out, havent ridden there for decades.
be fun to camp there in the spring if I could find a nice remote place (not KOA but big enough for a small trailer)
Know of a good spot? offgrid ok.

A bit too far from Shasta where we're staying this weekend tho

I'm in Weaverville, so can't speak directly to your camping question for Redding. If you are thinking of making the trip here, message me.
