Galfer rotor and pad Q's

737 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Spin Cycle
I want to get some Galfer rotors and pads for my Avid 185mm mechanical disk brakes. I think my LBS can order them through BTI, but I have no idea how to explain this to them, and I've no idea what parts I should get.

Does anybody know what parts numbers would be best to use? I don't even know if Galfer has more than one kind of rotors or pads to choose from...

Help! :bluefrown:

why don't you call them they are great on the phone 1-800-685-6633:thumbsup:
It is as simple as asking for "Galfer 185mm rotors and Galfer disc pads for Avid." Let them know that BTI has them.

You can look up the part numbers on the BTI site if you want.

Cool. I thought maybe the BTI site was like QBP's site or something, who's site doesn't work for regular guys like me.

Found this page. Makes it seem pretty easy. Are these the best rotors and pads I should use for upgrading my current stuff?

I like them. My preferred pads and rotors though I use Avid round rotors, too.
Galfer pads are also my favorite, I noticed that they have a "TUV" rating from germany I used to race Porsche and the best pads where also TUV rated I think it's a very strict rating for parts and such in Germany that is something like our UL listed . I just thought it was quite interesting that they have this rating I have not seen it on any other Pads ,

Shiggy do you know anymore about this rating, have you seen it on other pads or rotors ??
