So I pulled the trigger last night and started ordering the parts to convert my 2015 Foes FXR275 to use 27.5+ tires. The bike is currently set up as a 180mm park machine with I9 grade wheels and a Metric fork.... Though this is an awesome setup, I love the traction of my Mutz. I decided to test if plus tires would work on the FXR.
So that is a WTB Trailblazer 2.8 tire, hitting the metric fork, but easily clearing in the rear, using the Grade wheels with a 28.5mm Inner width.
I have put on order a Lyrik Solo 160mm 27.5+ fork, I9 backcountry wheels, and a set of Nobby Nic 2.8 and 3.0 tires. I know that it is going from 180mm to 160, but with the tires, I don't think this bike will feel lacking.
I will continue to post pictures of the build process.
