Fury Shock Length

I was just reading the recent review of the Fury and saw that the Roco shock was 7.875x2. I thought the Fury shock was 7.5x2. Is this a typo or has the new frame been changed?

I have a feeling that was a typo. mtbr did the same thing in the interbike 07 coverage.
I asked the same question as you then, Twisted answered but I can't find it doing a search.
According to the MC website the Fury still uses a 7.5 X 2.

Here's another post I found with some info.

I will be borrowing a 7.875 X 2.25 shock to experiment with shortly.
I will be trying it with the prototype cleat spacer, and Sin relaxed cleat.
I'm hoping that will slacken the head angle without losing too much travel.
I lost over an inch with the Sin Cleat - 7.5 combo but the head angle was nice for going downhill.
I'll post up my findings after I try the swap..

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. I hadn't heard of the cleat spacer. Looking forward to hearing how the setup works.

The cleat spacer is a 6.5mm spacer that mounts under the stock cleat.
It slackens the geometry, and lowers the bottom bracket a little bit more than stock.
I never actually measured the difference in head angle but it's a difference you can feel. From what I can remember the bb is 1/4 inch lower.
I'm using this setup with a 7.5 x 2 shock now and like it.
If this intrests you try contacting MC to see if they have any left.

EricMopar is also using the spacer on his San Andreas. I'm sure he will chime in.

I'm not sure when I will be able to borrow that 7.875 shock, but as soon as I do I'll post up my findings.

The spacer is on the left.,Stock middle, and Sin relaxed cleat on the right.

I would never chime in. :D
I am using the spacer which is about 6.5mm and goes under the shock cleat. It slackened my head angle about .5 deg and dropped the BB height on my San An Classic about .25" (6mm). It made my bike feel a little more balanced with a 140mm fork with a axle to crown height of about 115mm.
My bike came with 6" (151mm) travel, so a Fury would have less of a change.
