What is the best full face helmet that is moderatly priced? After watching my friend eat it i realized i should probably get one.

look into 661 stuff. i forget what its called but they have one thats like 45 dollars at jensonusa.com. full face is def a good idea.

Ive got a Bell. the bellistic. Its comfy and I think it looks good. its saved my mellon quite a few times, (and my face) they are on sale at jensen too.

My 661 helmet is awsome I had a hard time finding one that fits my head (being a chick with a small melon). But my Husband has a giro so really its just about fit... Remember that the Giro only is made in a small and med. but the med. will fit someone who has a really, really big head.. Good luck remember to try them on.

The TLD tank helmets are pretty nice, and are the cheapest ones ive found. Def. my favorite for comfort.....and they are so to say, "moderately" priced :D

Why would you need a DOT and Snell cert. moto helmet for biking? Theyre heavier, and they dont breath as well. I really dont know how the venting works, but my friend has the 661 thats vented like my Bell XC helmet, and my TLD has like 3 vents. Though my TLD vents better? Odd how good venting can overcome the amount of vents, and size of them. I like the 661 for the price, but the top part of my head in the front hurt due to the lack of pads in the 661. I believe that the DOT and SNELL helmets can be used through more than one crash, as where my TLD is only 1, then a replacement. I just cant see getting a moto helmet over a madmax or a 661.

Actually, it doesn't feel much hotter than my old Vigor Vamoose 2. But then again I never wore either for any extended amount of time.

Because I've seen to many helmets, like the Vamoose, crack/break during crashes and just wanted the most protection I could get. The weight isn't that bad really and the venting isn't an issue, since I don't wear them for extended periods of time only when I'm descending.

SixSixOne Full Bravo and the carbon are great...

Troy Lee Design Tank...D2 and the carbon version are also great...

and Giro MadMax2s are aslo great...

either of em will do the job well...and neither of em are to hot to ride in...

you all forgot about the Pryme Evil Pro Carbon helmet. 140 bucks, full crabon fiber, super light weight, sick graphics, DOT cert, wicked metal skull embedded in the chin guard...........

I've got an Azonic T-55 that I'm quite happy with. It has saved me from certain pain on several ocasions and is really well vented--light too. As an added advantage they make sizes up to XXL to wrap around my large gord. Got it for $100.00 at adrenaline bikes.

I would have bought the MadMax if Giro made it in a large but it is only available in S & M. My head isn't that big around (7.5 hat size and 23.5 - 23.75 around) but is oval shaped and pretty tall from top to bottom. Unfortunately, there isn't much selection in fullface helmets for those of us who are "cranially challenged". Being from a small city with only a few local LBSs, the ability to "try before you buy" is limited. I ended up getting a TLD Sprocket in XL/XXL and installing the included fit pads to snug it up. My local shop ordered it for me "on spec" with no commitment to purchase if it didn't fit. It cost me about $435 Cdn ($325 US) so I wouldn't consider it moderately priced. However, I can say that it is without a doubt the best designed, most comfortable helmet that I've ever used. Hope I never have to rely on it but I'm confident that if (and when) I do, it will do the job.

motorcycle helmets aren't that hot. don't get one if you climb a ton though. or you can just put them on your back or something. i have an hjc helmet. it was 130 or something around there. i have crashed and hit my head a lot of times in it and it works fine. plus i don't have to replace it every time i crash on it.
if you crash hard and often you should:
1)have a full face
2)have a lot of money (if you get a lighter helmet)
3)or spend the same amount on something that is stronger, a little heavier, pretty well vented and something that won't break if you crash.



sorry for the long somewhat light helmet bashing post.
