LBS has a new 2007 Fule Ex5 for $950 (RockShox Tora 289 U-Turn, RockShox BAR 1.1), they are willing to work with me on the price a little as well.

I ride paved/unpaved trails and have become more interested in singletrack lately.

Would a full suspension bike that didnt have lockouts be a pain to ride on trails (such as paved trails or commuting to work) were the suspension is not needed?

I know there are others out there that can offer some advice.

maybe a $1k FS bike is going to have sub par components too?

in short.... ok to buy a entry level FS such as this or just buy a higher end HT??

well for the price it doesn't sound to bad, i was just at the shop the other day to get a bike for my little brother and they had an Ex5 on the floor and it was close to $1,250

its a 17.5" frame...
I am 5'11 200lbs...

think a 19" would be in my best interest????

well, i am 6'0 and i have a 19.5" frame, i think it fits me almost perfectly, i have enough room for my legs and everything
