I looked for this bike at the Outdoor Demo at Interbike, but I did not see anything. I contacted Fuji and was told that they would not be available at the earliest till this month. Chances are that only a few pre-production models are out there in testers hands. I have e-chatted with one fellow that has tested one and he was pretty stoked on its performance. FWIW.

$4750...ouch
are you kidding me? why wouldn't you go with a niner for that much? dang. Still though they will probably be blowing those out at the end of next year at Performance for 50% off the MSRP. That would be a good deal. Just have to wait until next winter to score one.

Not the cachet of a niner or, well any cool brand really, but it would get one in the door with a good suspension design (performance is still to be determined but theoretically it should be good).

Bikesdirect doesn't get Fuji's full suspension designs, as they've been using the horst link on and off for a while now.

That thing is decked out. I agree with whoever said they should be offering something at the SLX/ X.7level, like the GT marathon 9r, at the 2-2.5k msrp range.

I bet we see a fs 29er in stock at bikes direct in the near future.
Yes and No
First sample frame was not what I wanted
Redrew - reordered sample frame
once frame is set; 5 months at least to get complete bikes

Our Aluminum XTR 29er FS with Reba - etc
will be about $1995

29er Ti is on the way this summer
will be about $1995

I really like the price point of under $2000 for XTR / DuraAce
and I really like to try to keep something nice at $1200 to $1500

In todays environment, I am trying everything I can to get expenses down
so prices can be better for those watching there money

Well, I bought one. I have only ridden it once so I will repost later after gaining more experience. The bike comes as pictured with the Sram/Truvativ mix and Crossmax wheels contrary to the description on Fuji's website(XT). First ride went well. I have the 2006 Outland RC 26" and this bike rides much better(stiffer). The suspension has plenty of adjustability and is super easy to set up. I took the bike to trails I am unfamiliar with so once I get to my usual trails I will have a much better feel.
