FTM fork option...

Long story short. I ran my Moto-Lite with a '08 TALAS RLC for 1.5 years. It worked well. 120 setting was good for really steep climbs and 100 was used exactly never. I always thought the TALAS was sticky at the top and not that plush, but a good fork. Well, I slapped it on my FTM that I bought 4 months ago. I have been using the 120 setting less and less, and for the last month, not at all. I began to realize that the 140 setting, even on the steepest climbs, worked best on the FTM.

I picked up a '10 Fox Float RLC QR15. It so soooo plush and the stroke is absolutely linear from top to bottom. The rebound damping is also easier to dial in on the '10. I also think the QR15 is a big improvement over the 9mm. Turn-in is more crisp and the front end tracks far better through rocks and ruts. 190 grams lighter as well. Anybody thinking of an FTM should take a look at the Float QR15.

I agree, I have a '09 Fox Float RLC QR15 on my FTM and it's so smooth and plush. Fully agree as well with the comment that there's no need with the FTM for any travel adjustments features that basically just makes the suspension performance worse.

Interesting. I have been told by several people (who service forks and fox stuff) that the 32 TALAS fork is the worst fork in the Fox line. They said the Float is much better and recommended that I convert my problematic 2007 TALAS II to 130mm Float. I did not and now actually regret it!
Plus the white Float looks ridiculously good on the white FTM :thumbsup:

Yes it does! :eekster: There's a sub 26 pound FTM right there.

Here's the Cranked Up FTM in white. Large and sub-26lb.

Just needs a Float I suppose. And blue housing.

Be sure to recycle that crappy Talas. You can't just put it in your garbage anymore in NorCal.

After your 2010 review, what will I do with a shelf full of 09 Talas QR15?

Yep,
it's 25.8lb to be exact. And that includes the mrp guide & pedals. And it's a large.

Posted the full specs on the 'post your FTM' thread a while ago.

Looking into 'upgrading' the Oro Puro's with R1's w/ floating rotors (red of course..). With R1's and w/o mrp guide the weight would be 25.2lb, so I'm closing in on the 25lb landmark! I guess I need some ti bolt kits here and there..
