Went up to Mendocino last week and walked into Ft. Bragg Cyclery looking for some trails. The owner who's name is Jesse I believe pulled out a map and started helping me out. He mentioned that the next day(Thanksgiving) that they would be riding down the 126 to Casper and mixing it up in the forest.
Fast foward to the next day. I was riding down the 126 from Mendocino looking for Jesse's crew and didn't see them. I kept riding towards Ft. Bragg thinking I would run into them. I did come upon 4 other mountain bikers headed out towards the way. I hooked a U turn and introduced myself to Dave and his friends(I wish I could remember their names, a couple on SS's from Auburn and a man on a regular mountain bike).
They were going to meet up with Jesse they had left late and apparently Jesse drove to the trailhead, hence me not seeing him.
Dave and his 3 friends were kind enough to take me for an awesome ride in the forest outside of Casper and Mendocino. We mixed up in the forest for over 3 hours. The trails were absolutely beautiful and prestine. There is no way in hell I could ever navigate those trails or link them all together.
Just wanted to say thanks for the guided tour and the hammerfest. It made for a nice Thanksgiving.

...they have helped me out likewise on my trips out there.
It might be Dave of BillyCross fame in the group you found.
They are planning to come out to do an "All Boggs" ride as turnabout for showing me their trails.
