FSA BB help

567 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Atomik Carbon
I need help. I installed a new FSA pro platinum bb last night. Followed the instructions, and the left cup is still 3-4 threads from being flush with the shell. Is this normal? I also took it down to my LBS and had them check it, and thats as far as it will screw in. I won't be able to call FSA until later, and was hoping someone here knew the answer.

Thanks,
Steve

My only thought is they sent you a 73mm shell BB and you have a 68mm shell BB on your frame. That would leave 5mm exposed, and the couple of FSA's I've installed didn't sit quite flush anyway, they would leave the shoulder exposed. So 3-4 threads would be about right if you got a 5mm too long of a shell BB.
I've got a 73mm shell and ordered a 73mm bb. I have let every shop in town look at it today, and have come to the conclusion that it's fine, everythings tight, just ride it.

Thanks,
Steve
I have the same issue....Plat Pro that sticks out a bit. It is fine.
Here's what you do...

Put a lock ring on it to protect the threads and give it a finished look.
