I'm buying some stuff at an online retailer. I'm considering a new frontwheel. The frontwheel I have now have the Mavic f219 rims at 550 grams. I'm torn between the xc717 (400g) and xm719 (460g). I'm riding a trail bike, would I notice the lighter frontwheel on the uphills?

Rotating weight is magnified like 3x while your pedaling if I remember right. I would think you could feel a slight difference.

don't bother if it is just or trail riding, you won't notice much, specially if you are running a "trail" tire. it won't make much if any difference climbing, fitness is more important there.

I believe more rolling resistance comes from the rear wheel as well.

it is probably better to use lighter tires, than switching a wheel to save 100 grams.

but hey, i use 1210g ZTR Race wheels... but those are just for racing, with 350 gram tires...

don't bother changing if you don't have to,
