Either get a new bike or get a new fork. You're current fork is not worth fixing and you will save money buy buying a "real" mountain bike.

If you do get a new fork though, find out if the steerer tube on the fork is 1 inch or 1 1/8. I'd recommend these forks... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=15227

This question is more for the suspension forum, but regardless, I'd venture a guess you're now riding in freezing temperatures. Your fork has elastomers, which at cold temperatures do not flex quite like they do when it's nice and warm outside. Do you feel a difference when the bike is indoors vs outdoors (for a while in both)?
