front rings and chain guide question

I was wondering if there would be any shifting issues if I ran a 36/22 up front with dual ring chain guide (MRP LRP or E13 DRS?) Is that too big of a jump, do they have to be a closer ratio to shift?
I've always run the standard 32/22 w/bash guard (no guide), so I'm in the dark here. Thanks!
