so this might seem a little silly for a dh bike but...

what are the front derailer options for an 08 turner dhr? i know a conventional will not work. will the e-type work? what about the ellsworth dare? will a conventional derailer work on the dare frame? what about the e-type? how abouf the f5 or the intense socom? one more thing to consider in the search for the "perfect" frame. thanks.

also, anyone know who offers the best prices for a dare frame? either a local shop or over the internet. how about an 08 closeout? does that even exist? shipping isn't a huge issue because no matter where i buy whatever i buy, it will have to be shipped. thanks

Soon you'll be able to put a Hammerschmidt on just about any bike and eliminate the need for a front derailleur.

As for the E-Type derailleur and E-13 backplate option, it does work, but not on every frame. On one of our locals Transition Blindside's, it took extensive machine work and welding to the backplate to get it to fit and work properly, which most people do not have access too.

Cory,Sorry I did'nt answer that one for you,The Hammeschmidt is SRAM's new crank system that uses a sun gear gear system with a single ring. There is the option of running a 22 or a 24 front ring and the sun gear will multiplie that by 1.6.So you end up with about a 22/35.2 or a 24/38.4.Does reguire ICGS tabs on the frame. If you're looking for something Downhill worthy and want two rings up front the Turner Highline is a excellent choice(has a much better seat tube angle for seated climbing). The Hammerschmidt is not available yet,but when it is one will be going on the SixPack.
