I'm still using a UST tubeless on my 26er but looking at all the new carbon rims that are coming out they are all beadles, what gives? They decided the bead isn't needed at all? Makes me nervous.

I'll be running the new wheels tubeless - anyone have any experience with the beadles rims?

If this topic has been beat to death please point me to the thread.

Hookless rims are gaining popularity in the carbon world mostly because it is easier, cheaper, and stronger to build them without a bead hook. There is no performance advantage other than the carbon rim can survive rock strikes better. Since most tubeless tire beads (including tubeless ready) are built to the UST standards you can count on relative consistency in the fit.

That said I am more than happy to keep riding my "hooked" tubeless Velocity rims, but if I had the chance to pick up some good carbon hookless rims I would be ok with them with tubeless tires.
