Planning on riding Blue Diamond area Friday night, May 6. I'll prolly start around 5:30 at the Late Night trailhead and do the Norba loop.

Saturday 6:00am = Cowboy trails.

Let me know if any of you would like to come along.

Fri/ Sat rides

Would you mind switching over to Bootleg. There has been strife lately with some local vigilante hikers stacking rocks around blind corners in order to stop mountain bikers from riding on our trails. I would like to ride up there quite a bit for the next little while to help watch over the trails. I'm going to ride ther Saturday morning ( I don't think I can get out of our fundraiser Friday night though).

What trails have the rocks been placed? As a nite ride might be dangerous if there are unfamiliar. I ride solo as my schedule is, well, I should go and ride now!
Maybe we should let some wild pit bulls loose to chase some hikers :D

Ill be heading out of town friday for the weekend. The bike will be gathering dust as I attend a boring wedding near San Diego. On the plus side were staying at a casino so maybe I can roll the bones for an hour and win enough money for a new bike part:)

Yeah, I wouldn't mind switching to Bootleg Saturday morning if you can make the start time earlier and YEM's got a room available at the Sands for Friday night. My reservation now is at the LaQuinta way over on the West side of town. I think I can still cancel without penalty.

I have to be on the trail by Oh six hundred. :) Rise and shine soldier!

Matt,

what trails have been subject to sabotage? I understand Lakeview(?) was recently closed to MTBs and only accessible to hikers now...

Cheers,

Jason

i just remembered

I am pretty sure they are racing at BC saturday morning,DH for sure. Then i think the extended DH run is starting at skyline and going down to vets home. Maybe we will run into Brent. We should probably be ok starting out but the race will probably run about 8-9 ish.Might have to change routes depending, i would not want to get in anyone's way.

Sat at 6:00am

6:00 is ok. I think we'd be fine time wise. We should be able to wrap up our ride by 8 or 8:30.

Oh yeah, it seems that the River Mountain Trail (switchbacks on the Lake Mead side) has been declared hikers only and our local Sierra Club eco-terrorists are setting rock traps on Boyscout to persuade us to leave that trail as well. If you find a rock pile that is intended as a trap -- call BC Police Dept. Maybe if enough of us call they will have to act.

OK, I've got my rooms switched around so I'll be staying in BC Friday night. I'll be at the Veteran's trail head a 5:45am ready to ride by six. Your route sounds fine, Matt. We should be done before the DH racing begins.

I'll check in here again tomorrow morning before I leave, but after that I'll be off line. Give me a call on my cell if you need to contact me: Seven-seven-five-two-nine-six-twenty-one-sixty-two.

Still riding Blue diamond Friday night I think....unless someone would rather join me at Bootleg. Let me know.

Yeah, that's the one (I don't know why I confuse it with Lakeview). I rode it a few times prior to the closure and we'd run into hikers. We'd stop ahead and pull off the trail and the let the hikers pass by. They were always friendly, even chatted with a few for while.

It's a shame there are rogue hikers out there wishing to do harm to others. I guess it is just the typical MO for any fanatical religion... :D
