Took my son out on a long climb last weekend. He sounded like he was going to die towards the top but he made it. 8 miles and 2400 ft of climbing.

Looks like he will soon be able to fit on my bikes....

That's a decent climb for a kid, it's normally hard to get them to stick out something that unfun for that long ;)

Hey Doug, any reason you're running that XR on the front in the reverse/wrong direction?

Yea, he did enjoy the downhill a lot more.

Oh, I just threw some old tires on with tubes to try to seat the rim tape some. Will be changing them over to ghetto tubeless tonight. Still waiting for a few parts before I can finish it up.

The last couple of days, Ma Nature decided to give the Mid-Atlantic's humidity a punch in the stomach, which left us with incredible weather. I met up with Sean and Dave (visiting Merry-land escapees) the last two days to show them around on the trails that have been tweaked since they left here 5 years ago.

Sean's work is incredible, and if I didn't already have a few great bikes, I'd be in line for one of his pieces of functional art:

Today we rode Avalon:

He said he hasn't ridden mountain much recently, and definitely not like this, but damn, the boy has skillz:

Three more days off, and I'm biking every one of 'em ;)
