going to be in fresno saturday and I am looking for a decent loop near town that is maybe offroad. don't really want to go up in the mountains because it might snow.

any decent trails local to fresno?

The only thing not at risk of snow would be the bike park in the north end. Can't recall the name. It's worth checking out though, big with pump track, plenty of jumps etc.
Otherwise there is a truly worthwhile trail called 007 outside Oakhurst, about 45 minutes from Fresno. It's very flowy, just call the Oakhurst bike shop and ask for details. They used to hold pro level downhill races there. Drop into section number two of three, or ride all the way up and do it from the top. There's a sister trail near to 007 as well, it's very rocky and will push a 6" trailbike.
There's also Squaw leap which is fun, just be sure to go clockwise from the bottom. It may not be snowing there if it is a 007.
Those are the best options out there. All the trails are in the mountains about half hour to an hour away. 007 is a well kept secret. shhh...
