Any tips or tricks for someone who runs various gear ratios for example a 32 x 21 down to a 32 x 16. Does it make since to have multiple chains ready to go to cover the various ranges mentioned above or is it easier just to add or remove links as needed. For reference my SS setup uses an EBB.

I'd search Dinglespeed. You need to find out what gear inch you want and then go from there. I'd recommend 38/34t chainrings and 16/20 in the back.

I prepare sections of chain -- one half link, one full link, one & a half links -- and then run a couple of Sram Powerlinks or 3/32" master links. I can easily change chain length thisaway in half link increments.

I use SRAM 8-spd chain and yes, the Gusset half link.
