Is it me or does it always seem to rain the night before the weekend and/or on the weekend? I will cherish more daylight hours during workdays so much more come Spring. I can't ride during the week cause by the time I get home its dark so I've sucked it up and decided to ride in the winter on weekends but without snow and only rain I can't ride! This is so lame that I'm considering a Road Bike. Either be cold and dry or cold and snow, its the freakin winter right?

Edit: Turned out to be a beautiful day!

I feel your pain

I've noticed the same thing. I work what you can call ...a 65 hour work week. I can't ride during the week until I can sneak in Friday and Monday evening rides when the days get longer come Spring. I'm getting slower, fatter, and more out of shape as the trails keep getting sloppier week after week. I have a new 29er that needs sorting out and a new squishy fork on my singlespeed that needs some fine tuning. Hopefully I can get out tomorrow for some mileage on some sandy New Jersey trails. -Bob

Yea, yesterday turned out to be absolutely beautiful! I didn't make it out to any trails though specifically because they were wet.

There will be more days to ride I reckon. Maybe by next weekend the trails will be dry enough after Mon and Tue forecasted rainfall.

Hey XC Bob. I remember talking to you a few weeks ago about the Pace Fork that you were running at the time. You plan on keepin it?

I rode Fair Hill on Sunday. The trails were not muddy but the spots that saw horses and were damp were DESTROYED. Me and a friend ended up getting pretty lost. Rode with a nice dude John/Jon on a Maroon Santa Cruz for about the first hour/hour and a half he was a little concerned about us since our bikes had "broken off our gears."

I should probably stick to the marked trails within that system but still had alot of fun as usual.

Jim, How are you doin? I just put a 2007 Fox F80x on my little Salsa single speed. I'm not digging it, yet. Still working on the tuning. Only one ride on the new fork. I like the squish, I don't like the brake dive. Meanwhile, I'm trying to dial in my new 29er. Only rode 12 miles on Sunday( yes, I do feel guilty). If your running a Chris King headset, I'll let you have a go round with my PACE RC31 carbon fiber and magnesium jewel of a fork, if you want to give it a try? -Bob

Hey dude! That's a mighty neighborly offer of ya, but actually I've only been riding my Unit 29er since I've gotten it. Would the Pace even work??? Plus, basic Cane Creek HS for the time bein. I like my Reba however I'm in the market for a rigid set up. I want to lighten up the front end a bit and the Pace and White Ind. carbons are quite tempting...

It might work with a 440mm axel to crown height fork. I think mine is 420mm(80mm susp corrected). You can't beat the steering response and braking stablity of a ridgid fork. And that PACE fork weighs only 650 grams? The Reba on my 29er seems to be a good fork, but I need to "play" with it to get it set up to where I like it. I guess the PACE fork will go on my Bianchi S.A.S.S. or maybe my Fuel 100? -Bob
