Frame to replace busted BUSS????

1062 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Cygnus
My poor BUSS, tricked out with all the gold on the lovely brown background, has jumped its last root (the frame has serious folds in the seatstay near the top tube). So it is time for a new frame! The guys at The Path have a Kona Unit medium sized for me, or ?????

I would really like to swap the components (king HS( gold), Paul hubs( gold)/ v-brake wheels, gold RF cranks, gold titec stem and bars, 80mm x-fly fork). if I could fit the 28.6mm Ti seatpost, even better. With all that gold, need a frame that comes in SH*T brown again, or maybe black or ???

My budget: ~$400, but some flex. Kona Unit? Soma 415? Look for a BUSS frame on ebay or the classifieds here? Try to find a nice Sofa King or IF (or other nice frame) used?

help me out with your advice, or if you've seen a great frame on sale somewhere, (if you have a nice frame sitting in the garage, PM me!).

Thanks!

Go Green. I have Gold shiite on my bike. Gold CK headset with a gold spider, gold bars, and gold nipples. My frame is green and I've been thinking about replacing it as well. The Path has a killer deal on a VooDoo frame in green. Plus it has those cool sliding dropouts. I love gooollldddd!

That bike's gonna look like the Packers...http://www.packers.com/
Splurge and get the SASS dealio that's floatin' around and mix and match the parts, gold and silver eh?
voodoo looks nice, but i don't see green on their website for the wanga one.

SASS-no way. too shiny, won't go with gold.

does anyone still make frames with a 26.8 mm seat tube, so that i can continue to use my fancy pants dean Ti post?
I feel for you...

I love my BuSS, which has had various incarnations. it's a rigid SS now, with mainly upgraded black parts and a pace carbon fork. light, stiff, and very fast. if mine broke, i'd be tempted to find another BuSS frame on ebay. could probably be had pretty cheap even though they will be, or already are, claSSics.
