You can register at Velocipede Salon. It's not as focused on the newbie by any means but there are many reputable builders who post there and most are very willing to share information, tricks and tips.
Why not post your questions here or search the frame builders list http://search.bikelist.org/. I like Velocipede, but I never got the impression that it's a place for newbies to ask what flux to buy.
Thanks guys, it just looked like they weren't taking new memberships. I'll keep lurking here for a while and try not to post too many stupid questions.
You can get the foundation skills you'll need by taking a welding and/or brazing course at your local community college. I definitely recommend starting to develop those skills prior to actual frame construction.
anyone with a stupid question should search the archives at the framebuilder's list -- they've all been asked on there, and you can be glad to read through other people taking the abuse. Probably find the answer too.
