I was just wondering if anyone has replaced their rear shock on the FUEL with Fox RP 3? What is the result? Can anyone share tuning tips?
Tuning is the same as with the plain old float.

Set your sag with the propedal switch in the minus position.

I have a Float on my Fuel and an RP3 on a different bike. Except for the Propedal, the Float and the RP3 are almost identical.

Thanks Blue shorts. Do you think it is worth upgrading? Can anyone give me some insights?
If you already have a Float, I wouldn't upgrade.

The Fuel is not a plush ridng bike... and never will be regardless of the shock chosen. You could possibly get some improvement if you send your shock to Push. They can custom tune the shock and it will most likely be better than the RP3 or what you have now.

What are you trying to accomplish?

No experience with RP3.

I put an AVA can on my Float R and enjoy the ride much better. It is not "plush" as no 3" travel bike can be, but it does feel more plush than before. With 20% sag, I use about 99% travel with the AVA collar set to 1 on my trails.

Good point.

An AVA, larger air volume, would make it a bit less harsh. I suppose it all depends on what he's looking for.

He might be able to gat an ava for his float... that would be the best option.... if it's not expensive.

I got an offer to upgrade my Float R to an RP 3 for free. (the shop i sent my shock to get fixed misplaced it) But the shop also offered me a choice of shocks to choose from for extra upcharge. So i was just wondering if i should go with the RP 3 or if anyone has any suggestions?
