Morning all,

Just got back into riding here in central NC near Hickory. I am riding my Specialized RockHopper. I did replace the front fork with a Marzocchi bomber fork but the rear Fox Float R remains intact. Any suggestions for a stiffer shock or how to revalve this one? I am 6'3: and 200 lbs. Its a bit soft for my liking.

That shock is garbage. There is no tuning potential apart from replacing the entire damper.


I replaced a 2012 version with a 2014 Monarch RT3 and the difference was night and day. If I was to replace one now I'd buy a Manitou McLeod.

Hey Phillip, thanks for the reply. Is this Manitou shock a drop in replacement do you know? My RockHopper although in awesome shape, it IS 10 or so years old at least. The bike is a 2003 FSR XC RockHopper Comp.
