I have the opportunity to change my Romic for a brand new what looks like an 03 AVA R. It's a bit of a bargain at 1/3 of the original price.
It's not one of the pro pedal ones, but the seller is adamant that it's an 04 shock.
I'm really tempted, but I'm not sure if it'll be right for the bike.
Anyone have any experience of this shock on the 5 spot?

Why not?

What are you're reservations at 1/3 the original MSRP - go for it! You can always have it PUSH'd if you decide you don't like the ride and still be ahead. The 05's are shipping with the RP3 which is essentially the same shock with a 3 position adjustable propedal setting.

I don't know if you did a search here for "spot ava" but people have reported really liking the pre-Propedal AVAs on the Spot. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Get it.
