Is a Fourth Hand Tool needed to adjust/setup a front derailleur?

If anyone knows of a website that has specific instructions for front derailluer installation would you please post it. Thx

no 4th hand tricks

Along with the always helpful park site, if you don't have a 4th hand tool there are a couple of other ways to get more cable tension for the f. der.

What I usually do is to give the lower limit screw about a quarter turn or so in and then attach the cable. After attaching the cable, let the screw back out and the tension should be just about right. The other method is to use the shifter's barrel adjuster...screw it in all the way, attach the cable and back the barrel out a couple of turns to get the tension you need. Good luck.
