I've done the whole living without a car thing. The only difference was that I lived in the middle of a city when I did it, so I could walk to a lot of the places I needed to go.

the only thing that i have found that i needed a vehicle is for...long trips and trips to the grocery store...other wise transit ( i average a cost of $0.46/trip currently this will go up when i get out of tech school) and biking works wonders and is great excercise and stress relief

I'm not sure where you live Troy, but have fun with that Quattro in the snow. My A6 is a snow mobile.
