We got two in Loveland, short but not bad, and they will be extending them soon to connect to Horsetooth - from Devil's Backbone to Rimrock Open Space and on North. I've heard the trail may actually extend beyond that in the future.

I got a buddy who rides up in Horsetooth quite a bit - he's got dozens of routes on trails like Horsetooth Rock trail, Wathan, West Ridge, East Ridge, Mill Creek, Saw Mill, Loggers, Stout, Harrington, Audra Culver, Spring Creek and the unmarked "Cow Path", with extensions into Lory (Nomad, Lower Valley, Upper Valley).

The Horsetooth Lake trail you mention may be Shoreline, which has an extender from Maxwell. There's also trails further down at Michaud Lane (nasty, rocky downhills!)

Those are the ones I know about...there's probably more somewhere...

Just thought I'd make a post for people to share trails in the Fort Collins area. I have some on my team page at www.freewebs.com/blacknblueridingcrew under "local rides" but I just wanted to open up a forum to share more rides for us along the front range in northern co
Wow, awesome, thanks for the link. I currently live in Colorado Springs but I am moving up there in just under two weeks to go to school at CSU and I had heard that riding is kinda iffy up there, but looks like theres more than I was expecting.

No way, man, riding here is good...There's also several trails up the Poudre River valley, like Hewlett's Gulch, Young's Gulch and Dadd's Gulch, and we're only about an hour from Red Feather Lakes where there is some good riding as well.

Kinda iffy? Fort Collins has the best riding along the Front Range, In my honest opinion.

All of these pics taken from rides started at town. If you want to drive to ride, Poudre Canyon has a bunch of stuff as well. If you want me to show you some rides, let me know...

alright, sounds cool. Is there much shuttle accessed stuff or is it mostly things that you have to earn your decents?

While we're on the topic of Fort Collins, here are some pics I took last week. They are from Shoreline/Maxwell, which is in my opinion the best trail in the area. Shoreline is the only technical trail close to fort collins. I have recentley been told that a county parks pass is required to ride it from now on, but I havent personally seen a sign explaining this.

That looks like a lot of fun, I'll have to try and hook up with some of you after I get settled in up there

Is that Nessie from Loch Ness in the middle picture?

There are lots of more technical trails up at Horsetooth Mtn Park than Shoreline. And Michaud Lane has to rank up there with technical trails too. But Horsetooth is a long ride from the downtown, albeit do-able.
