So I just built up an SS hardtail, I'm using a Mattoc 29/27+ 140 mm fork.

I noticed significant fork dive with my original FS settings (50 main/75 IRT), so I bumped the main to 65 and it still feels divey.

I'll be using this bike for pump track and trialsy stuff, so I don't need a whole bunch of front end plushness.

What pressures/set up do folks typically run in a situation like this?

I have not had a manitou fork in 12 yrs. I want a hard tail and will probably have the same issues. On my full sus F36 I have been using MRP Ramp Control. Thought about DVO OTT but its not something easily changed Mid-Ride.. I guess I'll be following this so I can learn from the Manitou tuners. What do you weigh & how much LSC are you running?

In my experience the fork on hardtails usually feels more divey. Part because the lack of rear sag, bottom bracket usually higher than on a fully, maybe in your case the bike is also shorter in reach and/or front-center.

Having said that, increasing only the pressure in main pos. chamber isn't enough. It's best to always keep the magic main/high pressure ratio to optmize mid-stroke support.

You can remove the compression damper to access the shim stack. remove the 19mm washer(shim) to add small bump plushness. Make sure you have one. If you do you can add one that's thicker for more platform.

I don't change the air pressure, I crank the HS and LS compression dials to full firm. I do this whenever I take my bike to a BMX or pump track, keeps the fork from moving too much so you can actually pump, but it'll still blow off and save you if you screw up and case it into the face of a whoop.

^^ This if you ride a bit on the plush side adding 10-15psi helps. I also run less rebound.
