As the title implies, my wife’s fork is stuck about half way through travel. I can pull up a bit but it goes right back to is sticking point. Crazy thing is, it’s a new bike. This was only her second ride on it, it’s a Giant stance 1 that came with their giant crest fork. It was supposed to come with an entry level rockshock but due to supply chain issues, it now comes with the not so well reviewed crest fork. I searched the web and can’t find any answers, I tried.

It’s a 130mm fork stuck at about 80mm. Lucky for her I do have a spare 130mm rockshock in the garage that was serviced, I just kept for a spare for one of my bikes or my sons.

I will call the shop tomorrow but I just wondering what it could be. Thanks

Try completed deflating the fork. Slowly release the air till empty and manually cycle the fork with the valve still open. Reinflate slowly and cycle the fork many times every 20psi or so to balance out the negative air spring if it has one. Inflate to your final desired pressure. While keeping the shock pump still attached, cycle again several times to balance out the negative spring if it has one and again inflate to the desired final pressure if any pressure was lost. Maybe this will help.

As stated in my Marzocchi thread, give it a try it seemed to work for me so far.

I tried, thank you for the advice. It might have raised a bit, I should have measured prior. It is still down about 1.25” compared to the other 130mm shocks in my garage. So bizarre to have this happen mid ride.

Thank you for sending me to your post. The reply by Johnny worked. Once I went up to max pressure, it was at at full travel. I released the air slowly and it tried to drop a bit, I pulled it up and cycled it a bit. Made my was down to the appropriate pressure for my wife and it’s holding currently. Time will tell but it seems like it did the trick.
When I picked up the bike it was hard to compress the fork, the shop guy said someone put to much pressure in it, he probably did not release the pressure slow enough and messed it up.
Thanks guys for the advice, I really appreciate your time.
