I'm wayting for a Trance frame and as they are new here in Europe and I can't found not many information, I'd like to have your opinion about a good fork for this frame ( maybe I have to exlude Fox because they are to expensive here) considering that use is mainly xc and some enduro .
Thinking in a Rock Shox Revelation ... anyone has an opinion about??

Also look at the Manitou Minute (or Black) series. The 06 lineup is great.
The Rock shox Revalation is a good fork but get the 426 air model with the the 115mm travel setup. I have the 05 Reba Race with the 115 mm setup and it is a perfectly balanced bike.

I'm not familiar w/ the Revelation (right now it's prob in the same positio the REBA was in when it was 1st launched-unknown) I can however tell u that the REBA fork has got to have recieved the award foir fork of the year 2005 (IMHO). I have been so happy w/ my REBA SL over the past 8-9 months, that I cannot help but recomend it for someone looking for a fork in this travel range but not looking to spend FOX money.

FYI a weird little exert from the new '06 Combo Manual for all RS forks...........

Be sure to check the diameter whenever you change tires. To do this, remove air pressure and compress the fork completely to make sure at least 5mm of clearance exists between the top of the tire and the bottom of the crown. Exceeding maximum tire size will cause tire to jam against crown when the fork is fully compressed.
Am I a "tard" or does the clearance between the top of the tire and crown not remain the same no matter where in the travel the fork is - if not it would mean that the relation between the axle and the lowers would be changing :confused: . The only thing that could change this would be if u let the air out of the tire.

Fork arch (brace) is different from the crown

The arch is what you are thinking about. The crown is where the stanchions and steerer tube join. It is possible for a tall tire to hit the crown when a fork is fully compressed, stopping the tire and ejecting the rider.

Got me, I was thinking ARCH and not crown :confused: my bad. Never thought about that idea b4 will have to keep an eye in the future. Another thing that gets' me is that they give tire size recomendations ..... REBA=2.4" MAX, Revelation=2.7" MAX, PIKE=2.7" Max... but which tire manufacturer r they refering to since not all 2.4's r the same, nor any other tire size between manufacturers and even between diff tires within a manufacturers ranges.

Hi ,

I had the opportunity to ride the Trance1 and my conclusion was that the Reba was as sensitive and efficient as the FOX , but its price was €300 less .
By the way , the rear RP3 does not give any advantage ; I did not notice any change in riding , whatever is the propedal setting . FloatR is perfect .
That's why I bought a T2 upgraded with Xmax wheels instead of a T1

Ok, I haven't ridden any RS forks, but I would probably go with the Reba.

I think that the Revelation is a better fork when set to 130mm, and I don't know of all the features. Probably the Reba will be cheaper also.

The Reba can be run from 85 to 115mm for the U-Turn, and 100mm for the fixed one, and that wouldn't afeat the HA. The Revelation with U-Turn I think goes from 110-130, and would affect handling. That's what I think, but I would like to know if I'm wrong.
