Just looking for various opinions on what fork you guys would put on a new 08 vagrant. Thanks in advance for your opinions. So far i have been considering the marz 66rc3 and the rs totem coil....

The bike is best at 160mm travel. I haven't tried a 180mm fork however but I've read it's a goofy ride with such a big fork. For AM stuff or light freeride a 55 is nice. Many people use a 36 van. I'm going to put a cheaper Domain U-turn myself on mine.

If you're doing some light freeride/jumping and trail riding on it, the 36 Van seems to be right in the sweet spot for the Vagrant.... any taller and i think mine would feel way too raked out. The extra weight of a taller/bigger fork would make the bike feel slightly unbalanced, and would be harder to control in the air. If I was using it exclusively as a DH/FR hardtail though, I think a taller fork would be fine.

The Vagrant is really built to be a tech. singletrack machine, so 140-160mm puts it right at home.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 07 and previous years were baised around a 521mm AC height which is about the same AC as a Pike at 140mm of travel. Does the 36van have the same AC or is it taller being that it has an aditional 20mm of travel

I built one up for a bro a couple seasons ago. We spec'd a Pike and he's still stoked on it. A 36 would be the next logical step and about as big as I'd go on that frame. Either get a float and adjust the travel where ever you want and leave it or get the TALAS and be able to switch it around.

a 36 talas would be a great fork for the vagrant...that way u are covered for various riding styles (fr/dj)

Good to here. I just scored myself a Vagrant frame and am swaping over parts from my curent hardtail (azonic DS-1....Freakin long) and I plan on sticking with my Pike simply for it's veratility.

That Powder blue on that Bottle rocket is HAWT. I love the white transition sticker wraped around the headtube
